Angels Do Exist - You Just Have To Make Them

Don't ever get the idea that my favorite underdog state, North Dakota, has no creative ambition. Please note that thousands of dedicated NoDak appendages flapped yesterday to break the record for the most snow angels ever made at one time.

They only had to break Michigan's record of 3,784 but more than 8,900 Dakotans, including a 99-year-old lady, gamely plopped their ass down in the cold snow for a chance to prove their collective angelic worth.

Ever on the defense of NoDak's dull reputation, Edna Arvidson, 84, of Bismark, pointed out, "People think there is nothing going on up here." Well, I think this chilly stunt should certainly put that perception on ice for awhile ...

Yeah, kind of inspiring, isn't it? For some reason, just knowing that there's that many folks who can be silly, cheers me up a ton.

That is truly a great story. I wonder if anybody has the rights to it. We should make a movie.

Yeah, it'd be a cool movie. There's a young ND couple in love, and they're going to go make snow angels as a sign of their innocent pure love and they inadvertently falls through the ice - because the ice isn't thick enough to make snow angels - and then the entire state gets together to save the "couple under the ice" and there's a ND fire captain who's a day away from retirement who's frankly "too old for this crap" but he knows the couple needs him and there's his teenage son who may or may not have scraped the ice down to its inadvertent thinness with his hockey skates while playing midnight hockey with his pals even though his father told him not to and then there's the hot young DA (Played by Sandra Oh, just for you) who's not sure that the citizens of ND have the authority to go out on the ice and save the young couple but they of course do it anyway and the couple is saved and everybody makes snow angels as the credits roll.

How's that?

Hubs: Glad you told me about the hockey game! I'll be rooting, even from the Deep South.

Jeff C.: Okay, unless you are a blockbuster buster, you have missed your calling. Brilliant treatment, my friend. The retired ND fire captain who manages to squeeze in one more herioc effort is nothing short of brilliant. Where do I buy the popcorn?
